Hello! I’m Jennifer and this is my online technical writing portfolio. I am a senior at the University of New Haven majoring in English with minors in Technical Writing, Communication, and Criminal Justice. I am also a peer tutor at the Writing Center and the student life editor of the Charger Bulletin. I have proudly raised my cat, Daisy, and soon plan to adopt a beta fish named Dog.
Some of my hobbies include writing, drawing, painting, overthinking, and playing piano. My career goal is to be an investigative journalist, but I would also like to publish a book.
In this portfolio, you will find my instructions project for Apple Maps users, a quick reference card (QRC) for first-time Skype users, a recommendation report about the university’s shortage of counseling services, and my resume. I designed each document for a specific audience and purpose. I combined basic design principles and professional writing to create documents that are appealing and effective.
