At Inkwell, there are several games we like to play to spark our creativity. Sometimes we write poems as a group and sometimes our poems are written individually.
Paint Chip Poetry
This is an individual activity where everyone randomly selects a paint chip. Then, write a poem based on the color and name.
Poetry Pass
Poetry pass is similar to a game of telephone. One piece of paper is circulated around the whole group so that everyone is contributing to the poem. The first poet writes two or three lines of poetry before folding the paper so the next poet can only see the last line. Each subsequent poet bases their own two or three lines of poetry on only the last line that the previous poet wrote. At the end, the completed poem can be read aloud to see how cohesive it is.
