Description

Published 100 year ago (1920) and first performed in Prague in 1921, Karel Čapek’s R.U.R. (Rossum’s Universal Robots) made its debut in the United States in 1922. A blend of science fiction, morality tale, and farce, this apocalyptic satire (which introduced the word “robot” to the world) explores tensions at the intersections of humanity, technology, and nature.
