    1. We see our field of study contributing positively to the plastic problem. For example, as a Statistics teacher we could inform students on the issues with plastic.
    2. In order to solve the plastic problem we could collaborate with Environmental Science and exchange knowledge.
    3. Approximately 100 billion plastic bags Americans use in the course of year.
    4. Approximately 1 billion plastic bags CT residents use in the course of year.
    5. CT residents are responsible for 1% of plastic bag use in America.
    6. The average CT resident uses 10 plastic bags a week.
    7. This revenue of $55 million is going to be used to buy more plastic.
    8. We think a local stop n shop might sell 50 bags in a day in CT.
    9. The supermarket saves money by not providing plastic bags because they do not have to a demand to buy the bags.
    10. California is doing really well in curbing the use of plastics because they got rid of single use plastic food containers and other plastics.
    11. In the state of CT, we can use bamboo toothbrushes to curb our use of plastics.
    12. This week, we could use bamboo utensils and make sure we are recycling correctly.
