Project: Inkwell Poets Society

i’m not a bad dog.                                           you’re not a bad dog.

i’m sorry i bit                                                   you don’t just bite

you game me a collar,                                    your collar pokes and prods,

a name,                                                             you don’t answer to your name,

a home house.                                                 you burst from your house

i wish to be invited into your home            to our home

i’m not a bad dog                                            you’re not a bad dog

i don’t deserve this.                                        you bring us dirt,

i try to stay away from bugs                         and fleas

and you keep me from you                           and love in whatever form you can.

i’m not a bad dog                                            you’re not a good dog

i don’t know where i am                                i’m sorry it has to be like this

i’m scared                                                         you’re too dangerous

i’m tired                                                            you just have to go to sleep.

i want to go home.                                          this is home now.
