Step 1: Find A Digital Work You Admire

Step 2: Analyze The Text
There are no advertisements on Medium. The author’s name is at the top and their bio is on the side when you scroll down. Their name is also hyperlinked so you can click their name and go to their page. From my experience with Medium I know you can post things on medium as easily as most social media or blogs where as soon as you post it becomes visible to anyone.
Step 3: Explore Possible Platforms for Your Work
I plan on using Medium as my platform because I like the blog post format without having to make your own website and your work gets shown on the website.
Step 4: Publish a Piece of Your Own Writing on the Platform
Here’s a link to my first piece. https://medium.com/@ColbyJAdams/understanding-sound-design-prep-work-d76d1f5beae0
Step 5: Analyze the Publication Experience on the Platform
Readers interact with authors through comments on their posts or through direct messaging them on social medias the author provides on their page. As for design options there aren’t very many. You have the option of three different text sizes: paragraph, title, and main title. And only one can be bold. You can also use italicize but you can’t underline. Other than text you can add photos, videos, or use their search engine to add photos. You can also embed links. Lastly there’s an option to separate paragraph with a large ellipses between paragraphs. There are no templates. They make it easy to post your publication to social medias as an option in the drop-down menu and you can also get a link to post wherever. The website also has a list of recommended posts based on your interests. Which can help posts get discovered.
