We will use a shared word online document for in-class discussions and workshops. For class discussion, you’ll be asked to add passages from or questions about reading you’ve done before class. For workshops, you’ll be asked to share an excerpt of your in-process work to complete a brainstorming or revision exercise. Workshops are meant to give you a start on a process you can then apply to your entire project, but having everyone’s example in our shared document helps you all learn by seeing the wide range of possibilities and the kind of feedback I’m offering across the board. If you do not feel comfortable sharing your in-process work in Our Doc, please let me know and I will create a private document for you, which you can copy our in-class activities into and share only with me.
Other than a laptop or tablet that you can use for workshops in Our Doc, you will need a notebook and pen/pencil to take notes during our discussions. I suggest getting a notebook you feel great about writing in.
