i will say goodbye to the tide pools,<\/p>\n\n\n\n
and the deep sea societies i\u2019ll never meet,<\/p>\n\n\n\n
because in your wake there is a heart shaped island<\/p>\n\n\n\n
that is lost in an apartment complex of Green Rooms<\/p>\n\n\n\n
and instrumental crescendos that flood and build homes of their own<\/p>\n\n\n\n
in the stone they eroded.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
the tide pools will dry up, leaving the fish in crosswalks,<\/p>\n\n\n\n
the coral in coffee shops, the seaweed wrapped around sushi rice.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
it all recycles, whether i touch the sea or not.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
the waves crash against packed sand regardless of if you watch them or<\/p>\n\n\n\n
leave them behind. water rises and falls, burying shells and unearthing treasures.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
the salt lingers on my face like a good kiss,<\/p>\n\n\n\n
the Green Paint drying on my clothes as your heart pulses beneath my ear<\/p>\n\n\n\n
to the tune of a soft wind<\/p>\n\n\n\n
