{"id":30,"date":"2026-04-30T21:48:22","date_gmt":"2026-04-30T21:48:22","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/unewhavendh.org\/inkwell\/?p=30"},"modified":"2026-04-30T21:51:48","modified_gmt":"2026-04-30T21:51:48","slug":"machine-drum","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/unewhavendh.org\/inkwell\/2026\/04\/30\/machine-drum\/","title":{"rendered":"Machine Drum"},"content":{"rendered":"\n<div class=\"wp-block-group\"><div class=\"wp-block-group__inner-container is-layout-constrained wp-block-group-is-layout-constrained\">\n<p>the constant machine drum<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>relentless screaming for a need to be seen<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>falling to cotton-clouded ears<\/p>\n<\/div><\/div>\n\n\n\n<hr class=\"wp-block-separator has-alpha-channel-opacity is-style-dots\" \/>\n\n\n\n<div class=\"wp-block-group\"><div class=\"wp-block-group__inner-container is-layout-constrained wp-block-group-is-layout-constrained\">\n<p>Why should they hide their intentions?<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Nobody\u2019s left to hear it<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>So many minds, none ever used<\/p>\n<\/div><\/div>\n\n\n\n<hr class=\"wp-block-separator has-alpha-channel-opacity is-style-dots\" \/>\n\n\n\n<div class=\"wp-block-group\"><div class=\"wp-block-group__inner-container is-layout-constrained wp-block-group-is-layout-constrained\">\n<p>Fluff dispersed to the wind, evaporating<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The air dry, sky empty, as if you were<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>invisible.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<hr class=\"wp-block-separator has-alpha-channel-opacity is-style-dots\" \/>\n<\/div><\/div>\n\n\n\n<p>but invisibility is a dull ache, in contrast<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>to the sharp sting of ignorance<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>to be seen and heard, but never listened to or acknowledged<\/p>\n\n\n\n<hr class=\"wp-block-separator has-alpha-channel-opacity is-style-dots\" \/>\n\n\n\n<p>Where do I have left to go?<\/p>\n\n\n\n<hr class=\"wp-block-separator has-alpha-channel-opacity is-style-dots\" \/>\n\n\n\n<p>After the nothing of the past<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>A century\u2019s worth of adventures<\/p>\n\n\n\n<hr class=\"wp-block-separator has-alpha-channel-opacity is-style-dots\" \/>\n\n\n\n<p>A lifetime\u2019s worth of life<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Simply trying to fit all into<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>A singular person with only one heart<\/p>\n\n\n\n<hr class=\"wp-block-separator has-alpha-channel-opacity is-style-dots\" \/>\n\n\n\n<p>I don\u2019t know where to go<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Or what to be<\/p>\n\n\n\n<hr class=\"wp-block-separator has-alpha-channel-opacity is-style-dots\" \/>\n\n\n\n<p>which questioned me for many a year;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>interrogative yet listlessly<\/p>\n\n\n\n<hr class=\"wp-block-separator has-alpha-channel-opacity is-style-dots\" \/>\n\n\n\n<p>a question hangs in the air<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>searching for an answer<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>proves fruitless for the time being<\/p>\n\n\n\n<hr class=\"wp-block-separator has-alpha-channel-opacity is-style-dots\" \/>\n\n\n\n<p>but sometimes it feels like I\u2019m not even a human being<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>A human being\u2026 such a silly thing\u2026 what is even considered<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>human anymore<\/p>\n\n\n\n<hr class=\"wp-block-separator has-alpha-channel-opacity is-style-dots\" \/>\n\n\n\n<p>Human, man, machines, AI. How do we tell between life and machine?<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Truth and artificial lies?<\/p>\n\n\n\n<hr class=\"wp-block-separator has-alpha-channel-opacity is-style-dots\" \/>\n\n\n\n<p>Where it is the point\u2019s we can ask, are we the same?<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Enhanced, but no soul?
