A small globe of light falls from the air,<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Landing directly in front of your feet.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Crouching down, you hear a chittering sound.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
The light before you brightens and grows.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
You are kneeling eye to eye<\/p>\n\n\n\n
With what appears to be a fairy.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
A winged girl of impossible beauty.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
With wings made of stardust.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Sitting on a cracked sidewalk<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Under flickering streetlights<\/p>\n\n\n\n
You meet a fairy.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
She speaks in melodic tones<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Asking for a favor, a task for a task.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
She seems trustworthy and kind,<\/p>\n\n\n\n
But many folks before have seemed that way as well<\/p>\n\n\n\n
To trust or not to trust<\/p>\n\n\n\n
A question you grapple with all too often.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Eyes of shifting purples and blues<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Meet your own steady eyes<\/p>\n\n\n\n
She asks again, more pleading<\/p>\n\n\n\n
She is hopeful you will help<\/p>\n\n\n\n
On a cracked sidewalk, under flickering streetlights<\/p>\n\n\n\n
You leave a fairy behind and go home<\/p>\n\n\n\n
To a place where magic isn\u2019t found<\/p>\n\n\n\n
And doesn\u2019t ask for more<\/p>\n\n\n\n
