Bridging sentences convey a connection between what the new paragraph will be about about and how the prior paragraph relates\/connects. &nbsp;<\/li><\/ul><\/li><li>Use &#8216;linking<strong>&#8216; language<\/strong>:<ul><li><em>Phrases\/words <\/em><ul><li>EX: The boy did not like cats and dogs. <span style=\"text-decoration: underline\">On the contrary,<\/span> he liked animals that could fly, such as sparrows and falcons. <span style=\"text-decoration: underline\">Likewise<\/span>, he liked bats.&nbsp;<\/li><\/ul><\/li><li><em>Pronouns <\/em><ul><li>EX: &#8220;Mr. Thompson agreed to meet with members of the worker\u2019s union before <span style=\"text-decoration: underline\">he<\/span><em> <\/em>signed the contract. <span style=\"text-decoration: underline\">He<\/span> was interested in hearing <span style=\"text-decoration: underline\">their<\/span> concerns about the new insurance plan.&#8221;<\/li><li>As underlined: <strong>he<\/strong> refers to Mr. Thompson and <strong>their <\/strong>refers to the worker&#8217;s union. <\/li><\/ul><\/li><\/ul><\/li><li>When forming a sentence- Carry over <strong>known <\/strong>information from the previous sentence and then add <strong>new <\/strong>information as well. <ul><li>Populations of co-existing, closely related, but diverging variants of HCV RNA molecules are termed&nbsp;<strong>qausispecies&nbsp;<\/strong>(new information). <strong>Quasispecies&nbsp;<\/strong>(known information)&nbsp;occur in many RNA viruses&nbsp;(new information).<\/li><\/ul><\/li><\/ol>\n\n\n\n<p><em><strong>Consistency<\/strong><\/em><\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\"><li>Acronyms<ul><li>EX: If you shorten the United States of America to &#8220;<strong>US&#8221;<\/strong>&#8211; make sure you use that exact form throughout your writing. Do not change it to &#8220;U.S., U.S.A., or USA.&#8221;<\/li><\/ul><\/li><li>Bibliography and Citations<ul><li>EX: Follow APA, MLA, Chicago guidelines<\/li><\/ul><\/li><li>Capitalization<ul><li>Keep the capitalization of words the same. If you write <strong>Brooklyn Bridge<\/strong>, make sure to capitalize &#8220;bridge&#8221; every time.<\/li><\/ul><\/li><li>Dates<ul><li>EX: If you format dates as the following: <strong>September 27th, 2019<\/strong> &#8211;&gt; do not change that format such as: 27th of September in 2019, In 2019 on September 27, 10\/27\/2019, or 10\/27\/19. One format should be kept when mentioning any dates. <\/li><\/ul><\/li><li>Hyphens<ul><li>EX: If you say <strong>far-right<\/strong> political groups, do not write this phrase without a hyphen as follows: far right.<\/li><\/ul><\/li><li>Parallelism<ul><li>EX: Usually, the children spend the summer weekends <strong>playing <\/strong>ball in park, <strong>swimming <\/strong>in the neighbor\u2019s pool, <strong>eating <\/strong>ice cream under the tree, or <strong>camping <\/strong>in the backyard.<\/li><\/ul><\/li><li>Point of view<ul><li>1st person, 2nd person, 3rd person omniscient\/limited.<\/li><\/ul><\/li><li>Spelling<ul><li>EX: If you choose to spell the word &#8220;<strong>hezbollah<\/strong>&#8221; like this, stick with it throughout the entire piece.
