Today’s trip was very insightful in many ways. We got to see the real prints of different creatives such as poets and artist. One of the pieces that intrigued me was the zine. I love looking at magazines and to see one so old and rare was very interesting. I liked hearing about the boy bands that were talked about in the zine. It felt like a throwback to a different time. Their were different activities in the zine such as word puzzles that showed the immersive side of the magazine. Even though the print in the zine were black and so were the pictures, this didn’t affect the overall display of the magazine and the drawing were still beautiful and creative.
Another part I loved about the trip was the painting from Paul Mellon. Each painting had it’s own significance and were carefully drawn. I found it interesting how much animal paintings their were. The huge lion picture at the top of the wall was definitely my favorite. It was captivating and powerful. If I was rich I would’ve loved to have that on my wall.,
Overall the trip was very informative and I learned a vast amount about printing and different ways artist decided to print their work and the hard work it takes to perfect these pieces. Seeing different pieces of art and being able to analyze and reflect on them was a great experience.
