Introduction
We made it to the finish line, and only one assignment remains. Who wants to hear about my totally innovative idea? If you said yes, great! If you said no, too bad!
In my perfect world, I would have an AI-interactive tool that users would have a conversation with. Sort of like the Akinator mixed with ChatGPT 4.0 (for those of you who don’t know Akinator, THIS is the link, I think).
How Would Users Interact?
Users would interact with this tool by simply talking to it. There would be a button that says “Press here to begin” or something which would then prompt the user to allow access to the device’s microphone.
What Data Would It Gather?
The data gathering would be similar to how ChatGPT gets it’s information; by cross-referencing available online sources and generating general responses. It would attempt to identify key words such as “action”, “cool”, “ass-kicking”, etc. Obviously that is tailored to one genre in particular, but you get the idea. Additionally, it would ask for permission to store and ‘learn’ from any conversations the user would have with the tool. If allowed to, it will store the audio file and convert it to textualized conversation in order to pick out those key words as text and store it for later use. “Well last time we talked, you mentioned that you liked Dragon Ball Z, so would you like to see more animations with martial arts? Maybe something less martial artsy and more superhero-y”.
When first getting to the site/app, you can make an account and fill out some info (age, gender, some things you like, etc). This will give the site a general idea of stereotypical recommendations like “hey you said you like action and animation, so what about Dragon Ball Z?” You know?
Data About Creative Works?
As per creative works, the tool would utilize the information it pulls from the internet to better ‘understand’ what it is recommending. This part still needs to be worked on, but an example would be like, Dragon Ball Z is a japanese animation from the 80s/90s full of combat (specifically martial arts) originally created by Akira Toriyama as a manga (japanese comic). It would pick this information apart and categorize it under “japanese animation”, “action”, “Akira Toriyama” and other stuff like that.
Inspiration?
There really wasn’t a lot of inspiration for this, as I’m making this up completely on the fly. This is my brain-child thinking “okay I am lazy and don’t want to type things out, so what if we just talked to the computer instead”. It is a mix of the ability to talk to the newer AI systems and narrowing down ideas/possibilities by providing information to the system (similar-ish to the Akinator).
