How I heard about this movie
I actually heard about this movie from clips of the movie on Instagram because I liked posts of car videos, then saw movie clips and then one of the clips from this movie came up and I was instantly hooked and wanted to watch it. My love for cars also brought me to this movie because I follow car accounts on Instagram so I just always get recommended car videos. I also found out that the movie is a true story.
How Ford Vs Ferrari made me feel
The viewing experience was great, I was very into the movie the whole way through, I think this is because I love cars and the Ford Mustang which is talked about in the movie. I did not get bored at any point of the movie, I loved it. I felt sad while watching it because of what was happening in the movie, the Ford CEO’s were trying to tear down their racer who is the only reason they one Le Mans that year, without him they would have lost to Ferrari, they kept trying to bring him down because his attitude wasn’t good for press because he was very blunt and not “media trained”. I also felt very happy because Ken Miles who is the race car driver for Ford and who won Le Mans which put Ford on the map for racing cars and not just normal cars won the Le Mans race and stayed humble the whole time and conquered the race even though the Ford CEO’s were trying to bring him down, through all odds he did what he came to do and left humble and was left an underdog.
How this movie can reach more people
Being a car movie the main target audience are people who love cars and racing and the brands Ford and Ferrari. I feel like I only found this movie because I look at a lot of car videos on Instagram and got recommended clips of the movie which lead me to find the name of the movie and watch it. I think if they recommended this movie to more people not just people who have car related content on their social media and showed it to a larger audience, because most people drive cars and I think this is an important story to tell because of the significance it has to cars today, Ford may not have even stayed in business without this story.
The techniques used to create features you feel while watching
The overall character development throughout the movie was very well done and you didn’t know what that character would do next. For example Ken Miles was denied being the race car driver at first and it made you feel like he wouldn’t come back to give it another try, but he stayed and even made improvements to the car to make it last the 24 hours of Le Mans and even stayed till he was made the main racer again. The CEO’s made you angry because of what they were doing the whole movie, they only knew about press and how their company would look and had no idea how the cars work or how to make a good race car.
Overall feeling I had when watching
I felt excited and giddy while watching because there was always an element of suspense, it had you thinking what would come next and will it be good or bad. Like I said earlier I felt sad due to how Ken Miles was treated, at the end of the movie Ken dies when on a track testing a new Ford race car which is a true story. This made me sad because he was treated poorly but still fought and wanted to race to prove Ford can make it in the racing scene and he died while testing one of Fords cars, so he literally died proving how good Ford was even though the CEO’s didn’t like him. Overall this was a great movie and I recommend everyone watched it because it is a great story and overall just a very well done movie.
Conclusion
Overall this movie used suspense, sadness, and happiness elements throughout the entire movie. Whenever you would see good things happen to Ken Miles you would feel a sense of happiness, but whenever the executives of Ford were being assholes to Ken, you would feel sad and angry. I feel like the suspense was created by the fact that you did not know if Ken was going to beat Ferrari, the race looked lost and the teams moral was low.
